Help build the electrical systems behind Europe's most advanced unmanned ground vehicles.
As a Junior Electrical Engineer at Milrem Robotics, you'll design, build, integrate, and test hardware used on real robotic platforms deployed around the world. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll develop practical skills while contributing to technologies at the forefront of autonomous defence.
You'll join our Remote Operating Hardware team, responsible for the electrical systems that enable operators to safely control Milrem's unmanned ground vehicles in demanding environments. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with up to two years of experience who enjoys solving practical engineering challenges and wants to develop their career through hands-on product development.
What you'll do
Contribute to the development and integration of hardware for remote operating systems.
Build, wire, assemble, and test electrical and electronic systems, prototypes, and assemblies.
Debug, troubleshoot, validate, and integrate hardware throughout the development lifecycle.
Work across a wide range of technologies, including power distribution, control panels, cable harnesses, connectors, communication interfaces, sensors, cameras, displays, and vehicle interface hardware.
Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, embedded software, and field engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions.
Participate in demonstrations, vehicle testing, and other engineering activities as required.
What we're looking for
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, or a related field.
Up to two years of relevant experience through internships, student projects, Formula Student, or similar practical engineering activities.
A basic understanding of DC electrical systems and electrical safety.
The ability to read and create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Practical experience with wiring, crimping, soldering, prototyping, testing, or troubleshooting.
Experience using laboratory equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
A structured approach to problem-solving and technical documentation.
Good communication skills in English.
A willingness to learn and contribute within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Nice to have
Experience with CAN, Ethernet, serial communication, or vehicle electronics.
Familiarity with electrical schematic or cable harness design tools.
An understanding of EMI/EMC principles, grounding, shielding, and cable routing.
Experience in automotive, robotics, defence, unmanned systems, or remote operation hardware.
Knowledge of safety circuits, emergency stop systems, or ruggedised electrical design.
Why join Milrem?
At Milrem Robotics, you'll work on technology that makes a real-world impact. From your first day, you'll contribute to hardware used on operational robotic vehicles—not classroom projects or simulations. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, take part in prototype builds and vehicle testing, and gradually take ownership of your work as your skills grow.
If you're looking for a role where you can learn by doing, work with advanced robotic systems, and help shape the future of autonomous defence technology, we'd love to hear from you.
