And we at the Oldenburgisch-Ostfriesischer Wasserverband (OOWV) ensure that the best drinking water comes straight from the tap from the East Frisian Islands to the Damme Mountains. More than a million people in private households, companies and communities can rely on us. In our 15 waterworks we rely on efficient technology and natural processes. Environmentally friendly waste water disposal is also our responsibility - for around 500,000 residents (m/f/d) in 38 municipalities and a special purpose association. With extensive specialist knowledge, the latest technology and 46 sewage treatment plants, we clean the waste water and return it to the natural water cycle. Our extensive sewage network is around 4,600 kilometers long. This corresponds to the linear distance from Oldenburg to Newfoundland on the east coast of America. Our pipe network in the area of ​​drinking water is 14,448 km - roughly the distance from Oldenburg to Cairns on the east coast of Australia. Reinvest the proceeds The OOWV is one of the ten largest drinking water suppliers in Germany. Our association does not work for profit. Surpluses flow into optimizing our operational processes and technical systems. Our members - districts, municipalities, cities and a special-purpose association - benefit from the fact that we combine interests and enable economic solutions.
