The Hasso Plattner Foundation is an independent non-profit institution, established as a foundation under German civil law. The Foundation aims to contribute to the promotion of education, culture and environmental protection; giving future generations the chance to reach their full potential. The main focus areas are: Science & Education With future-oriented education and research initiatives, young talents are promoted and trained to become leaders. A central focus lies on the development of innovation, competence and entrepreneurial spirit. Arts & Culture Besides the promotion of its own museum, the Museum Barberini, the Hasso Plattner Foundation is engaged in the field of provenance research, and focuses on cultural heritage preservation. The preservation of historic buildings is of major importance when trying to protect valuable monuments. Conservation & Social Work The focus is on the protection of the unique African flora and fauna by promoting a respectful symbiosis between humans, animals and nature, as well as the sustainable improvement of living conditions among African communities.
