We are now looking for a
FLIGHT PLANNER
to produce high quality flight planning services for Flight Operations and ensure that flight planning is safe and cost efficient and fulfilling the requirements of authorities and Finnair’s internal procedures. In this role, you will provide services during the flight and take appropriate action to minimize air traffic delays.
You will be part of the Flight Planning Team. You will work at the heart of OCC’s decision making, collaborating closely with Lead Flight Planner to make optimal decisions together to ensure smoothly running operations.
You might be the person we are looking for if you are analytical, focused, but also decisive and ready to make decisions in the fast-paced heart of OCC. You should already have knowledge about airline operations on a wider scale and a willingness to share your expertise with others.
Main responsibilities:
To produce efficient flight planning and create a safe and an economically reasonable flight plan for each flight
Assist the pilots in flight preparation and provide relevant information required for the flight
File ATC-flight plan for each flight
Monitoring of automated flight planning system in co-operation with Lead Flight Planner
Follow-up of flight planning operations environment 24/7
Our expectations:
Strong understanding and knowledge on airline operational core processes
Good understanding of commercial needs and requirements
Strong analytical skills
Ability to make independent decisions under pressure
Can-do attitude with strong execution skills
Systematic and self-initiative way of working
Strong co-operation and communication skills
Fluent English, both written and spoken
Good IT skills
Minimum High School degree or Bachelor's degree
Experience in flight dispatcher tasks or pilot’s license is seen as an advantage
