The team you’ll be working with: Swift

Our team looks after Wise’s connection to the Swift network; the backbone of the financial world. The team is in a special place, because it’s the bridge between the established and new financial systems - Swift and Wise.

We build and maintain the infrastructure that allows us to exchange messages (payment instructions, statements, RFIs) with other participants of the Swift network. We are the experts in correspondent banking and various Swift services, like SwiftRef and GPI, and we utilise these services in various ways to improve our product.  

Next to the infrastructure, the team is responsible to move USD and EUR to foreign countries (to China for example), and looks after customers - mostly businesses - who send on these routes. 

Our technology stack includes Java, Kotlin, Kafka messaging and relational databases, but also graphs and machine learning. The team is dynamically growing, and its role and responsibility is increasing every day.

Qualifications

What does it take: 

• A strong product mindset, you prioritise work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions

• Sense of ownership and great communication skills to drive projects across teams

• You have 4+ years of experience with Java and have Kotlin knowledge, experience with Spring framework and microservice best practices

• You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback

• You enjoy writing testable code

• Experience working with relational databases and query optimisation

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Distributed and Concurrent Systems

• Hands on knowledge of system integration patterns

• It’s a plus if you have experience with Swift and related services, and with the ISO20022 standard
